What will be in the Pinedale Aquatic Center?
There will be a competitive swimming pool with a viewing area that will enable the schools to hold multi-school swim meets here and will improve the strength of our swim program. There will also be a leisure pool that people of all ages will enjoy. It will have a current channel, which is an enclosed stream of water that can be used for floating on or walking against for exercise. There will be a slide and other “toys” for entertainment.
In addition to the competitive pool and leisure pool there will be a 3-story climbing wall, a running/walking track, two racquetball courts, a gymnasium with a sports court floor that can be used for activities such as in-line hockey, indoor soccer and dance, and additional rooms for a daycare (for adults who want to leave their children while they work out), classes, and parties.
The Pinedale Aquatic Center is going to open in mid November. Some of the things that are done in the Pinedale Aquatic Center so far is the rock climbing wall and the rackit ball court. The compition pool is done and are now using it for swim meets.
Who will be able to use the facility?
Everyone! The purpose of the Pinedale Aquatic Center is to replace the current swimming pool which has outlived its predicted lifespan, enhance physical education opportunities for students in kindergarten through 12th grade and to provide recreational opportunities for all people in our town and the surrounding area who wish to come here.
